Discover Little Lions at TCA

Have you ever wondered, what goes on in the Little Lions Program at TCA? Our program goes far beyond providing safe childcare to cultivating an atmosphere of foundational early learning with a focused Biblical worldview. See what God is doing in and through this amazing program and how some of our most precious students are thriving!

Little Lions is the Trinity Christian Academy Early Education Program for infants through three year olds.

Infants and Toddlers
This year at TCA we have expanded, adding a third toddlers class and keeping a third infant class that will begin in January of 2025. Our hope is to provide Christ-centered and excellent childcare for current families, alumni, and for new mission aligned families to join the TCA family. All TCA families are required to be faithfully attending a Bible-believing church, and have at least one Christian parent who will partner with us in mission. Infants and toddlers spend their days being loved, read to, listening to music about Jesus, going on buggy rides, and age appropriate activities that build a love for school and provide an excellent foundation to build an education upon.

Little Lions Two
At age two, our Little Lions begin a more curriculum based education. Students this age learn best by play, so there is a lot of fun to be had throughout the day! Students also begin auxiliary classes: Spanish, STEM, Music, Art, and Library. They also begin wearing uniforms. Our hope is that students will grow to love learning and school at age two and that they will begin building sweet friendships with classmates and that their parents will do the same. Students have Bible class each day beginning at age two as well.

Little Lions Three
Three year olds at TCA continue to participate in auxiliary classes and prepare for Pre-K and Kindergarten. Students this age still learn best by play, but students are also learning vital classroom skills in an age appropriate way. How to walk down the hallway, how to sit and listen at story time, how to speak in front of and participate in class, all of this takes patience and intentionality as our precious Little Lions learn and grow into little students. Students are ready to be introduced to these ideas, learn how to write their names, cut and glue, and deepen those early reading skills. Students in our Threes program are challenged while being deeply loved, encouraged, and pointed to Jesus.

Proven academic excellence and Pre-K and Kindergarten readiness.

Each year at TCA, our Little Lions Threes and our Pre-K students are screened by our teachers to see their academic readiness through the nationally recognized, Brigance screening. This year again, our students scored significantly above average for their age in both rising Pre-K and rising K with the overwhelming majority of current students scoring above 90 on the Brigance. This shows that our program actually is preparing our students, equipping them with a strong foundation to begin the journey of a dynamic Trinity Christian Academy education. This however is not what makes a TCA education special. What sets us apart, is that while our students are growing into little scholars, they are learning to see the world through the eyes of scripture. To learn how to love their classmates, their teachers, their families, and how to be like Christ is paramount. We are not a perfect school with perfect Christians making perfect children. But we are in the business of growing into His likeness together while we partner with Christian families and their churches to provide an excellent education. That is our mission.

The beauty of a Biblically based, Christian education is that you don’t have to sacrifice excellence to teach a Biblical worldview. Students can and do have a robust, exciting and rigorous education all while being pointed to the One who created them.
