Alumni Spotlight

Alumni Spotlight: Hannah Futrell, Class of 2020

While at TCA, Hannah was heavily involved in SGA, played softbalI, was a student section leader, and actively involved in her church youth group at West Jackson. She is currently in her senior year at Samford University majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics with a Minor in Strength and Conditioning.

"The career goal for me is to be a sports dietitian (football specifically) at the collegiate or professional level. I have been able to secure internships with Vanderbilt University (2022) where I worked with men's basketball and The University of Tennessee at Knoxville (2023) where I worked with their football team. Being able to have experience at the SEC level at a young age has been an incredible growing and learning opportunity for me. At Samford we are a FCS Division I program and I am the football team's lead nutrition intern working directly under our Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Performance. I have the opportunity to run our nutrition program by traveling to away games and providing all on the road and game nutrition. My job is fueling athletes post workout, collaborating with coaches and support staff on nutrition needs of players, organizing and stocking the nutrition facilities, and managing a small team of nutrition interns. In this role I also was able to have a hand in designing a $250,000 nutrition facility that was completed in spring of 2023 in Samford's football facilities.

I would not be where I am today or on the path that I am on without my time at Trinity. I was given so many opportunities to lead and was surrounded by people who encouraged me and wanted to help me reach my goals no matter how large. Trinity taught me that relationships and how you treat people matter and that hard work is important. If you are able to form good relationships, work hard, and respect the people you are around, then there will be so many opportunities opened for you!"

Hannah, we at TCA are so proud of all you have already accomplished and most of all, your heart for Jesus. We cannot wait to see how the Lord will continue to use you for His glory!
