School Health Update

Written by Erin Rager, School Nurse

Fall is definitely in the air, and with the seasons changing, I wanted to share a few health reminders.

- Now is the time to get a flu vaccination if you have not already done so.  Receiving the flu shot does not guarantee you won't get the flu, but more often than not, it helps limit the effects of the flu if you catch it.

- If you know your student(s) struggle with allergies this time of year, consider starting them on an antihistamine to help with the seasonal sniffles.  Zyrtec, Claritin or their generic equivalents are good go-to's for students that are designed to be effective through the full school day.

- While it is fun to bring fall treats to school for lunch and snack, please remember that the Little Lions and Lower School classrooms and lunchroom are peanut-free.

Fall is a fun and busy season.  Please encourage your student(s) to get plenty of rest and make healthy food choices to boost their immune systems.  As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.  Thank you.
