Discover High School at TCA
The High School years are marked with questions about your child’s future. What college will they attend? How will we pay for it? What career path should they pursue? Will they be ready to leave the nest and be independent, godly adults? At TCA, our hope is not to only equip students academically for their future, but to prepare them with a well-rounded education that shapes them into who God has called them to be. TCA is a covenant Christian school, partnering in mission with Christian parents and their local churches to equip students. By the time our students reach high school, they are well on their way to becoming independent thinkers, organized time managers, and problem-solvers, with the foundational truths of God’s Word woven into their academia. Our academic program is designed to help our graduating seniors pursue their God-given calling as godly, servant leaders in their homes, churches, and communities. We strive to accomplish this by utilizing not only academics, but also athletics, fine arts, student life, and discipleship programming together to shape each student. We strive to be excellent in all things because we know that God uses all things to shape us into His likeness. Read below to see how we are equipping our graduates to go into the world ready to embrace God’s calling.
High School at Trinity Christian Academy is Ninth through Twelth Grade.
Freshman Year: Transitioning into High School
By ninth grade at TCA, our students have been increasingly preparing for the academic rigor of high school. Beginning Freshman year, students are given the opportunity for an increased variety of academic options. From Honors, AP, and Dual Enrollment classes, to more elective options to custom fit their interests and academic explorations, TCA students are being challenged as they grow into gifted, hard working young men and women. In Ninth Grade, students begin participating in Harbor Groups. Like Forge Groups in Middle School, Harbor Groups are divided by gender and age so that within these groups students can dig deeper into issues they are currently facing and build camaraderie with peers.
In High School, the Athletic opportunities increase as well. As a school with TSSAA affiliated athletics, our options are vast and the competition is fierce. There are a combined thirteen athletic options for male and female athletes, with very successful programs across the board. TCA is home to the 2020 State Champion High School Girls Basketball Team and the 2023 Regional Champion High School Football Team, to name a few. With 18 students signing to play collegiate level athletics in the past two graduating classes, our programs are known for being excellent. But excellent athletics at TCA is not measured merely by accolades. It is measured by the coaches who view athletics as another means of discipleship, pointing students to Christ and shaping them into godly, servant leaders. Similarly, Fine Arts opportunities from choirs to band to theatre are designed to provide excellent, high quality experiences for students. Our student Worship Team also exists for High School students to grow in experience leading worship not just musically, but spiritually. The Worship Team leads at Upper School Chapels periodically throughout the year.
Beginning in Ninth Grade, students can also participate in TCA Mission Trips. Annually, TCA takes a group of students to Guatemala to serve on the campus of Casa Aleluya, a home for children in crisis. TCA Spanish Department Head and Assistant Discipleship Director, Estella Tuchez, grew up there and leads our ministry efforts in serving that community. Students who participate are exposed to language and culture, but most of all to the great gift of serving in ministry alongside their peers, working together to glorify God. Sophomore and Junior Years
These years at TCA are where students are leaning more into their interests both academically and through extra-curricular opportunities. Friendships are deepened and students are growing in their personal faith. Students are also continually growing in skills and receive more ACT prep opportunities. Beginning in 8th Grade, students at TCA begin taking the PreACT. The goal is to set up our students for success as they prepare for life after High School. Practice taking the ACT has been proven to boost ACT scores, increasing college acceptance and college scholarship opportunities. We also know that not all students are called to attend a four year college after graduation. Many TCA alumni have gone on to careers in various industries or faithfully served in our nation’s military. Our view of academic excellence is not to push every student to be an ivy league scholar, but to fulfill their purpose and utilize their gifts for God’s glory. Our primary goal and very mission is to provide an academically excellent education that partners with Christian parents and their local churches to equip students to be godly servant leaders in their homes, churches, and communities. We work together with this as our united goal.
Senior Year at TCA
Senior year is so special. With the chapter of adolescence closing, opportunities from Senior Retreat to Prom and everything in between are available and meant to provide fun and meaningful rights of passage for students. We want our seniors to have been celebrated and loved well in their last year of Upper School. Senior year is also spent focusing on goals and final plans for life after graduation. One way we prepare students is through a class called Senior Symposium. This class is designed for seniors to discuss having a Biblical worldview, doubt in their faith, and Biblical questions as they are nearing the end of their high school years. The semester ends with students hearing from a panel of educators, coaches, and administrators. Students ask questions like "How do we know our prayers are heard or matter?" and "How do we know when God is leading us to make a decision, close a chapter and open another?" They then hear from the panel about their personal walks with Christ, times in scripture when we see God answer these questions, and how knowing His word and growing in Him will direct your path no matter your circumstances. Our goal at TCA is not only to equip students to become successful in their careers, but to equip them to become Godly servant leaders in their homes, churches, and communities. This unique mission and unique classroom experience for students is what sets TCA apart.
“I am so thankful for a school in which our children are taught a Christian worldview. They are receiving strong academic instruction that incorporates the truth of God’s word. They are also prayed for and encouraged by men and women who care deeply about their spiritual growth and character.”

“To say that TCA truly trained a champion for Christ in my son would be a huge understatement. He is thriving in college because of the excellence in academics but more so the Biblically-directed foundation that was laid by TCA and his church. I am forever indebted to and grateful for TCA.”
