Educator Spotlight: Debra Duffy
Educator Spotlight: Debra Duffy, Lower School Recess Monitor and Assistant P.E. Teacher.
Coach Duffy is beloved by students and faculty alike, known for her kind nature and love for physical education. You may not know that Coach Duffy also provides OT to students in Early Ed or Lower School with an identified need. This includes fine motor, sensory processing, food sensitivity, handwriting, executive function, environmental adaptation, and a variety of needs! She graduated from Ft. Campbell High School in Kentucky, which is one of two military schools in our country that is designed for service members dependents to attend. Recently, she was inducted into her high school's athletic Hall of Fame. The FCHS Hall of Fame has had only 3 classes in its 59 year history to be inducted. Coach Duffy was a three sport athlete for four years, on five KHSAA State Championship teams and countless individual state titles. She earned a four year track and field scholarship to University of Louisville. She completed her undergraduate in OT and Kinesiology and M.Ed. at the University of Minnesota. She has been at TCA for 3 years. Her daughter Juanita and nephew Joshua are current TCA students.
"God led me to Jackson and I heard from a real estate agent what a great school Trinity is. For two years I prayed about Trinity. What caught my attention was the school vision statement, 'Raising Young Champions for Christ!' When I stepped into the main foyer, I heard the Holy Spirit say 'This is where your daughter will receive her academic and Christian training.' I kid you not. I did not go visit any other schools in the area because I believe in being obedient and going where and when God says go. I have grown to love the partnership that Trinity fosters with the parents and the freedom I have to pray out loud for our students, staff, the TCA community, and the world. The sweet part about this is that I am not standing alone in praying and guiding our young disciples. TCA is a school after God's own heart and they are leading by example. How did I get to be so blessed that God trusts me to be a part of this training?"
